Rahul Gandhi to arrive in Kerala tomorrow for two days


Thiruvananthapuram: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will visit flood-affected areas of Kerala on Tuesday and Wednesday, said KPCC president MM Hassan at a press conference. Rahul will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday 9.45 am and will fly to Chengannur by 10 am. He will go to Alappuzha by 11.40 am after visiting flood-hit areas and relief camps in Chengannur. At Alppuzha, Rahul will part take in the event that honours fishermen at 12.30 pm. The fund collection for 1000 houses which KPCC will build for flood victims will be inaugurated in the event. Rahul will collect funds from the representatives of Alappuzha DCC, KPSTA and the leaders MM Hassan, Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy. The families of three leaders will hand over money to build three houses. Rs 5 lakh is collected for one house. While going to Kochi at 2.30 pm, the congress president will visit relief camps at Aluva, Chendamangalam and Chalakkudy. On Wednesday 9.30 am, Rahul will flag off the vehicles that carry relief kits at DCC, Ernakulam. By 10 am, he will fly to Wayanad to visit Kottathala. Following that, he will return by 1.15 pm from Kozhikode.
