Thiruvananthapuram: A low pressure area is likely to develop in the Bay of Bengal by Tuesday. It is reported that its influence would be minor in the initial stages. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain for 3 days in the state from Tuesday. It is likely to concentrate into a depression and move west-northwards towards north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts during the subsequent 48 hours, states Indian Meteorological Department in a press release. Under its influence light to moderate rain is expected to lash Kerala. "There is possibility for good rainfall in Kerala from September 21", said met department director K Santhosh. Due to decrease in rainfall, temperature has gone high more than the normal temperature in many places in Kerala. Presently, there has been an increase in temperature. Alappuzha (2.6 degrees), Kottayam (2.4 degrees), Kozhikode (2.4 degrees), Palakkad (2.5 degrees), Punalur (2.4 degrees) and Thiruvananthapuram (1.9 degrees).
