Abhimanyu murder: Main accused surrenders before police


Kochi: The main accused in Maharaja’s College student Abhimanyu murder case surrendered before the police on Thursday. Aluva native Arif Bin who surrendered to the police is the district secretary of Campus Front. The police said that it was Arif who gave the quotation for murder.

He has also direct involvement in attacking Abhimanyu. The police have already published a lookout notice of the eight accused in the case. Eight persons including some of the main accused in the case were yet to be nabbed. In this background, Arif Bin surrendered to the police.

There are 30 accused in the case. Meanwhile, there are allegations that the surrendering of culprits is with the knowledge of the police and campus front leadership.

It has been 90 days since the crime was committed. Normally, the other culprits in the case are likely to get bail. It is alleged that the campus front leadership has made the move considering this possibility also.
