India witnessing over 4 yrs of intolerance: Rahul Gandhi in UAE

Though he never mentioned the name of Narendra Modi, his speech was an attack on the Prime Minister and the BJP government

Dubai: Congress president Rahul Gandhi, addressing the Indian diaspora in UAE, said that he will bring back a united India that is being divided for political reasons and witnessing four and half years of intolerance.

He was addressing people at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as on Friday as part of his two-day visit in UAE. Though he never mentioned the name of Narendra Modi, his speech was an attack on the Prime Minister and the BJP government.

He spoke about the current situation in India referring to his meeting with Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. "At here (in the UAE), it is the 'Year of Tolerance', but back home (in India), I'm sad to say we have been witnessing intolerance for the last four-and-a-half years," Rahul said in a veiled attack on the BJP rule at the Centre. He said that the aim of Congress was to retain tolerance in the country. He said that one man’s decision must not dominate a country, instead diversity should reign.
